Marlaska requests more support from Frontex and Europol in Europe to deal with the triage of migrants still remaining in Ceuta

Spain's Ministry of the Interior has formally requested support from the European Commission involving agencies such as Frontex, Europol, and the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA). The request aims to assist with the triage, file processing, and management of irregular migrants who remain in Ceuta following a mass entry event that occurred on July 30 and 31.

The appeal for European assistance comes approximately one month after the border assaults. The deployment of these European agencies is intended to help authorities handle the backlog and streamline the identification and administrative processes for the individuals still accommodated in the Spanish autonomous city.
