Remodeling work at the Estadio Doroteo Guamuch Flores in Guatemala has shown visible deterioration even before the completion of the project. The failed initiative has left the sports venue closed following payments exceeding 9.5 million quetzales (approximately 1.3 million USD).

Despite the substantial expenditure and incomplete state of the initial construction, authorities have initiated a new bidding process looking ahead to the year 2027.
