EU pledges 200 million euros for Greenland investment package

Only Denmark and Greenland should decide on the future of the Arctic territory, EU chief Ursula von der Leyen said on Monday as she announced the bloc was pledging 200 million euros for investments in the island. The EU is preparing a major investment package and closer political ties with the Danish Arctic territory amid Donald Trump's demand for greater US control of the mineral-rich island.
