Another heat wave hits several drought-stricken European countries

Europe is experiencing one of its driest and hottest summers on record, with drought conditions currently impacting more than half of the European Union. Record-low water levels and severe dry spells have been documented across several countries, including France, Switzerland, Hungary, Slovenia, and Austria.

In response to the crisis, authorities in France have implemented strict water rationing measures. These water restrictions now extend to nearly 70 percent of the French national territory as the continent grapples with the ongoing consequences of extreme heat and diminished water supplies.
