UK, France, Germany, Italy and Canada condemn Israel’s West Bank settlement project

The governments of the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Canada have issued a joint statement condemning Israel's plans to open tenders for the construction of approximately 1,200 settlement homes in the occupied West Bank. The project, known as the E1 development, has drawn significant international criticism due to its location in a strategically sensitive area.

Critics of the project argue that the construction would effectively bisect the West Bank. They contend that this physical division would pose a major obstacle to the realization of a future Palestinian state.
