Evacuations ordered in rural Texas as wildfire mushrooms within hours

Evacuations were ordered on Tuesday in rural Texas as a rapidly growing wildfire tore through more than 78 square miles (200 square kilometers) of lightly populated ranchland. The blaze began early Monday afternoon and expanded significantly within hours.

In addition to forcing evacuations, the rapidly spreading wildfire disrupted local education by forcing schools in the affected area to either delay or cancel classes.
