A fourth Supreme Court Justice declines to participate in the evaluation

Judge Manuel Herrera Carbuccia, the first substitute to the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Luis Henry Molina, has formally resigned from being evaluated by the National Council of Magistracy (CNM) to continue his tenure as a magistrate on the high court in the Dominican Republic. With this announcement, he becomes the fourth Supreme Court judge to decline to seek re-election and submit to the ongoing performance evaluation process initiated by the CNM.

Upon communicating his decision to step down from the evaluation process, Judge Herrera Carbuccia issued a strong statement regarding the matter, marking a notable development within the nation's highest judicial body as multiple magistrates opt out of the evaluation and repostulation proceedings.
