Evento extremo de El Niño causaría pérdida de al menos 2 % del PIB regional, según CEPAL

According to a statement released on September 21 in Santiago de Chile by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL), an extreme El Niño event could cause a loss of at least 2% of the regional Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Latin America and the Caribbean.

CEPAl further noted that the consequences of this severe climate phenomenon are projected to add 4.8 million people to the region's vulnerable populations.
