Ex-Cleveland cop freed on bond while appealing conviction in bar attack

AKRON, Ohio — Two appellate judges on Monday ordered the release of a former Cleveland police officer serving an 18-month prison sentence for attacking a man at a Medina County bar whom he wrongly believed was an undocumented immigrant.
