Former Mexicali Security Director and former Customs official in Chihuahua, the other US sanctioned for links to Los Mayos

The United States Department of the Treasury has imposed sanctions on a network of individuals and entities allegedly linked to the Sinaloa Cartel, specifically the faction led by Ismael Zambada Sicairos, known as "El Mayito Flaco." The measures target approximately 20 members of the cartel's leadership, nearly 30 entities, and several Mexican state officials accused of facilitating drug trafficking and corruption.

Among those sanctioned are a former director of public security in Mexicali and a former customs official in Chihuahua. Additionally, the sanctions include Carlos Torres, the former husband of Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar, who is accused of having ties to the group known as "La Mayiza" and providing protection to a key operative of the organization in Mexicali.
