Marina del Pilar's ex-husband has no criminal charges against him: UIF only found irregularities, Sheinbaum points out

President Claudia Sheinbaum clarified that Carlos Torres Torres, the former husband of Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar, is not currently facing criminal charges. While the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) identified financial irregularities, these findings have not escalated to a formal criminal complaint against him.

This clarification follows recent sanctions imposed by the United States Department of the Treasury against nearly 50 individuals allegedly linked to the 'La Mayiza' faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. Torres Torres was among those named in the U.S. government's action, prompting the Mexican administration to address the status of the investigations within the country.
