Nicaraguan regime elects Ana Julia Guido Ochoa, sanctioned by the U.S., as president of the Supreme Court of Justice

Ana Julia Guido Ochoa, a former Sandinista guerrilla fighter, was sworn in this Tuesday as the new president of the Supreme Court of Justice in Nicaragua. Guido Ochoa, who has been under United States sanctions since 2020, assumes leadership of the judiciary following a 2025 constitutional reform that formally subordinated the court to the executive branch.
