IACHR calls for preserving progress made and deepening the investigation into the disappearance of the 43 students from Ayotzinapa 12 years after their disappearance

On September 26, families of the 43 missing students of Ayotzinapa led a march from the Ángel de la Independencia monument in Mexico City, marking twelve years since the disappearance of the young students. The demonstration took place amid ongoing struggles to achieve truth and justice in the case.

Simultaneously, international bodies such as the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (CIDH) intervened on the anniversary. The organization called for the preservation of existing investigative progress and the deepening of ongoing inquiries into the mass disappearance, highlighting persistent obstacles that have hindered full resolution of the case.
