Fans and police injured in pitch invasion during ‘high risk’ German Cup tie

A German Cup match between Waldhof Mannheim and Kaiserslautern was halted for 30 minutes following a pitch invasion that resulted in injuries to both fans and police officers.

Approximately 100 people sustained injuries during the incident, with eight individuals requiring hospitalization. The fixture had been categorized beforehand as a high-risk encounter.
