Farmers cut deal with government over backpacker visa delays

The National Farmers Federation and the federal government have reached a short-term agreement to address backpacker visa delays. Under the newly struck deal, urgent visa requests for backpacker workers will be fast-tracked.

The agreement comes in response to ongoing processing delays that have impacted the agricultural sector's access to seasonal backpacker labour.
