Authorities have released body camera footage from a deputy shooting that occurred several months ago. 28 in the area of Northwest 17th Avenue and 95th Street. According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a suspected stolen vehicle when the suspect in the car took off, almost striking the deputy in the process.
That deputy then opened fire on the vehicle as it fled the scene. Miami-Dade prosecutors have since determined that the deputy was legally justified in firing his weapon. According to authorities, the vehicle was found a short distance away with a gun inside, but the suspect was never found.
