Female rage inspires new adaptation of classic novel Little Women

The Queensland Theatre Company is producing a new adaptation of the classic novel Little Women, with the production centered around the theme of female rage. This creative initiative coincides with a national decline in enrolments for creative and technical arts degrees and school subjects.

In response to the dwindling participation in arts education, the theatre company is using this project to deeply consider strategies for supporting the local arts ecosystem. The adaptation connects contemporary thematic interpretations with regional institutional efforts to sustain local creative industries.
