The National Police of the Dominican Republic arrested 32-year-old Keuri Samuel Upía, also known as "El Tuyío," in flagrante delicto following the killing of his 27-year-old former partner, Melissa Figueroa. The incident occurred on Sunday night in the La Zurza sector.

Authorities have identified Upía as the primary suspect in the feminicide. The National Police reported the arrest on Monday as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death continue.
