El Niño phenomenon: Kuélap is being prepared for heavy rains to prevent another collapse of its walls

Authorities at the Kuélap Monumental Archaeological Complex in Amazonas have initiated preventative measures to protect the site's stone walls from anticipated heavy seasonal rains and a potential impact from the El Niño phenomenon.

Led by the Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Amazonas, the intervention aims to mitigate structural risks and prevent a recurrence of previous collapses at the historic archaeological landmark.
