Prosecutor's office could lose power to summarily suspend arrest warrants against members of armed groups: Council of State admitted key lawsuit

The Consejo de Estado in Colombia has admitted a nullity lawsuit filed by the Fundación para el Estado de Derecho (FEDe). The legal challenge targets Article 3 of Decree 1980 of 2012.

If the lawsuit succeeds, the Prosecutor General's Office (Fiscalía) could lose its authority to outright suspend arrest warrants against members of armed groups.
