During 2025, the 33 Mexican prosecutor's offices, comprising 32 state-level agencies and the federal Fiscalía General de la República (FGR), initiated 2.06 million investigation files. The data, released by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), accounts for all formal inquiries opened to clarify potential criminal activity across the country throughout the year.
