Flash flooding is possible in multiple states as heavy rain and thunderstorms threatens much of the U.S. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Western Massachusetts beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday and continuing through Wednesday evening, as a slow-moving storm system is expected to deliver 2 to 3 inches of rain — with locally higher amounts — across the region.
The heaviest rainfall is forecast to begin this afternoon across the interior, with the threat expanding eastward overnight and through the day Wednesday.
