Flowers offered to Bappa set to nourish Mumbai's civic gardens

In Mumbai, floral waste from the recent Ganpati festival is being converted into compost for civic gardens. Collection was conducted via dedicated handcarts and at artificial immersion sites in F-South ward. Local officials implemented this initiative for the first time to prevent waste pollution.

The composting process includes adding a microbial culture to expedite decomposition. This effort aims to utilize the finished compost as organic manure in the area.
