Former Republican US Sen. Jon Kyl, known for water policies and guiding confirmation of Justice Kavanaugh, dies at 84

Former U.S. Senator Jon Kyl, a longtime Republican lawmaker from Arizona, has died at the age of 84 in Phoenix.

During his legislative career, Kyl became known as a "workhorse" who shaped landmark water policies across the American West.

In addition to his environmental and regional policy work, he notably guided the Supreme Court confirmation process for Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
