Forty-five meters down, a diver races to record a fleeting moment of WWII history

Technical wreck diver Kingo Wakasa, aged 56, is conducting dives 45 meters underwater to document the rusted hull of the USS Emmons destroyer. The vessel rests on the seabed off the coast of northern Okinawa.

Wakasa's dives are described as a race against time to record a fleeting moment of World War II history as the submerged structure continues to deteriorate.
