Frankfurt Airport malaria outbreak claims worker’s life as five others treated

An unusual malaria outbreak at Frankfurt Airport has resulted in the death of one employee, with five other workers receiving treatment for the infection. The cluster of cases is believed to have been caused by mosquitoes transported to Germany's busiest airport aboard an incoming aircraft.

German public health officials identified the rare transmission at the aviation hub, highlighting the severity of the infections among the affected staff. While one worker succumbed to the disease, five others continue to be treated following the rare workplace exposure.
