Fresh flood warnings for disaster-hit Nepal and Tibet, 1,400 still missing

China and Nepal have issued fresh flood warnings following a deadly deluge and landslides that swept away entire villages along their remote Himalayan border. The severe weather and ongoing risks are severely complicating rescue operations to locate more than 1,400 people still reported missing.

Emergency teams operating in the disaster-hit region have recovered 392 bodies so far. The disaster has devastated local communities, with relatives of victims gathering outside an army base in Devighat village, Nuwakot district, to console one another as victims continue to be brought in by helicopter.
