FundéuRAE: "habla de que no le gustó", no "habla que no le gustó"

The FundéuRAE, an organization supported by the Spanish Royal Academy and the EFE Agency, issued a linguistic recommendation on August 17 regarding the correct usage of the verb "hablar" when followed by a subordinate clause. The institution clarified that when the verb functions with a clause introduced by "que," the preposition "de" must be included.

Consequently, the phrase "habla de que no le gustó" is considered correct, while the omission of the preposition, as in "habla que no le gustó," is deemed incorrect. This guidance serves to maintain standard grammatical precision in Spanish language usage.
