Ahead of a G20 finance leaders meeting, U.S. official Bessent stated that G20 nations should consider implementing additional trade barriers against China to address global economic imbalances.
Bessent asserted in an interview that the current volume of exports originating from China is unsustainable. This assessment was made despite observations that the direct trade position of the United States with China is improving rapidly.
