Garcilaso takes the lead in the Peruvian Clausura tournament after Alianza's draw and Melgar's defeat

Deportivo Garcilaso captured the sole leadership of the Peruvian Torneo Clausura after defeating CD Moquegua 2-0 during the fourth matchday of the Liga 1's second competition.

The victory, achieved in Lima on August 9, allowed Garcilaso to climb to the top of the standings following an Alianza draw and a Melgar defeat in the same round of matches.
