Gas shortages reported after Nepal Oil resumes sale of full cylinders

Gas shortages have been reported in Kathmandu following a decision by the Nepal Oil Corporation to resume the sale of full 14.2-kilogram cooking gas cylinders.

The Nepal Oil Corporation has attributed the supply issue to a temporary surge in consumer demand caused by the transition back to standard-sized cylinders.

However, consumer rights activists have disputed this explanation, accusing local dealers of intentionally creating artificial shortages and overcharging customers during the disruption.
