Scientists at a biotech company have used gene editing techniques to successfully produce hypoallergenic beagles, a development that may offer a future option for people suffering from dog allergies. The research involved Matt Walker, a scientist who previously could not pet a dog without sneezing.

Following the gene-editing process, Walker and other researchers created a hypoallergenic beagle named Bailey. As a result of the scientific intervention, Walker can now interact closely with the dog, including feeding her spoons of peanut butter while she lies on his lap and playing fetch.
