George Davis elected JGRA president

Media practitioner George Davis has been elected president of the Jamaica Gasolene Retailers Association (JGRA) for the 2026-2027 term. He was elected at the association’s Annual General Meeting on Saturday at the Ocean Coral Spring Resort in Montego Bay, St James. Davis, who is the deputy executive editor at Nationwide News Network, replaces Philip Chong as president.

Also elected Saturday as JGRA executives are Sophia Pinnock, first vice-president; Dianne Parram, second vice-president; Christopher Foster, third vice-president; and Leonard ‘Peter’ Moncrieffe, treasurer. The directors are Errol Edwards, Sandra Kenny, Gregory Chung, Garey Whittaker Jr, Delroy Christie and Jean DaCosta, while Lloyd Chambers, Monica Coore and Howard Paulwell are the trustees. Following the election, the new board of management was mandated to advocate for fairer and more balanced contract terms for members in their dealings with major multinational petroleum marketing companies along with other suppliers of goods and services.
