George Osborne ‘thought Peter Thiel’s Bayeux tapestry visit would be secret’

British Museum chair George Osborne has admitted he believed a private viewing of the Bayeux tapestry, which he organised for tech billionaire Peter Thiel at the British Museum, would remain a secret.

Osborne revealed the expectation of privacy during an appearance at the Big Brue festival, noting that he thought no one would find out about the exclusive arrangement.
