Germany defender Antonio Rudiger announced his retirement from international football on Tuesday, following a period of reflection. The decision comes two months after his final appearance for the national team at the 2026 World Cup.

Throughout his career with the four-time world champions, the 33-year-old made a total of 86 appearances for the German national side.
