Germany asks ICJ to dismiss Nicaragua-backed case against Israel arms export

Germany has formally requested that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) dismiss a legal case brought against it by Nicaragua. The proceedings, which took place at the United Nations' top court, center on allegations that Germany has facilitated genocide in Gaza through its ongoing military and political support of Israel. Germany’s legal representative, Julia Monar, argued that the court lacks the necessary jurisdiction to hear the case.

This legal challenge represents a significant international effort to hold nations accountable for their arms exports during the ongoing conflict in Gaza. By seeking a dismissal, Germany is attempting to halt the proceedings, asserting that the claims made by Nicaragua regarding its role in the conflict are unfounded or outside the court's mandate.
