Ghana calls on Russia to stop the illegal recruitment of young people to fight in the war in Ukraine.

Ghanaian Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa formally requested that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov halt the illegal recruitment of young Ghanaian citizens to fight in the war in Ukraine. The demand was made during a bilateral meeting on Monday.

With this action, Ghana joins a growing number of African nations that have previously called on Moscow to cease recruiting their nationals for combat roles on the Ukrainian front lines.
