Giorgos Mazonakis laid to rest in Nikaia as Paola and Nikos Oikonomopoulos join farewell

Greek singer Giorgos Mazonakis was laid to rest on Monday, 14 September 2026, at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Nikaia, the Athens suburb where he was born and raised. Fellow Greek artists Paola and Nikos Oikonomopoulos joined family, friends, and fans for the farewell.

Mazonakis died at the age of 54 on 9 September 2026, following a cardiac arrest during a plasmapheresis procedure.
