De la Espriella's government does not back down after suspension of spraying with glufosinate ammonium: it appealed the ruling

The Ministry of Justice in Colombia has formally appealed a judicial ruling that suspended the pilot plan for aerial spraying with ammonium glufosinate in the department of Putumayo. The legal challenge against the decision issued by the Second Administrative Court of Mocoa was presented by Linda Gisselle Suárez Villamizar, who serves as director.

The contested ruling had halted the government's testing of the chemical substance for aerial eradication efforts in the region. By filing the impugnation, the administration of Abelardo De la Espriella demonstrated its refusal to concede to the suspension, maintaining its push to implement the controversial spraying protocol despite the judicial roadblock.
