Government of Peru declares hydrocarbon supply emergency in Amazon region

The Ministry of Energy and Minas of Peru has declared a one-year state of emergency regarding the supply of hydrocarbons in the Amazonian region of Ucayali. The measure was enacted following protests and strikes that began on Monday.

These demonstrations and work stoppages were organized by local populations in response to a significant increase in the prices of diesel fuel in the region. The emergency declaration aims to address and stabilize the disrupted fuel supply chain resulting from these ongoing social disruptions.
