Gold Coast pub assault victim in coma as accused refused bail

A man remains in a coma following an alleged assault at the Coomera Boathouse Tavern on the Gold Coast this past Sunday. Police report that the incident occurred in the establishment's car park, where the victim, Ross Burckhardt, was allegedly punched in the face by Haami Makiroa Burns Prescott.

Following the incident, the accused appeared in court where he was refused bail. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
