Blow to the ACSN: 13 alleged allies arrested in Santa Marta, including three wanted by the United States for drug trafficking

Following the conclusion of an armed strike by the Autodefensas Conquistadoras de la Sierra Nevada (ACSN) affecting Magdalena and La Guajira, authorities launched security operations in Santa Marta, Ciénaga, and the Troncal del Caribe. A security council was led by President Abelardo de la Espriella in Santa Marta to announce new regional security measures.

As part of these ongoing efforts to target criminal organizations on the Caribbean coast, security forces dealt a significant blow to the ACSN by capturing 13 suspected allies in Santa Marta. The arrests included three individuals specifically requested by the United States for drug trafficking, while two organization ringleaders were reportedly killed during the operations.
