Government: North-east cartels shifting towards synthetic drugs

Northeast drug syndicates are shifting towards synthetic drugs from Myanmar. They are increasingly using social media and encrypted apps for coordination. Traffickers exploit porous borders and forest routes for cross-border smuggling.

Narcotics are concealed in legitimate cargo and passenger vehicles. Moreh-Tamu border remains a key transit point for these drugs.
