Nearly 80 people rescued in Grand Canyon flooding, 2 others died and 1 is unaccounted for, officials say

Emergency officials have confirmed that nearly 80 people were rescued following flash floods in the Grand Canyon, while two people died and at least one person remains unaccounted for. Search and rescue operations were deployed over the weekend in response to the severe weather event within Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona.

In the aftermath of the disaster, lodges and hotels inside the park have been closed. Authorities have warned that the threat of additional rain and further flooding remains a possibility as recovery and search efforts continue for those still missing.
