Searching mothers find a young woman dead with her backpack on in a canal in the State of Mexico, two days after the discovery of another.

In the State of Mexico, members of the Colectiva Feminista Ehécatl discovered the body of a young woman on Friday, August 28, in the Canal de la Compañía near the borders of Ecatepec and Chimalhuacán. The victim was found among debris while wearing a backpack, marking the second such discovery in the area within two days.

Separately, in Guatemala, authorities reported the discovery of two bodies on Saturday morning in the metropolitan area. The victims were found wrapped in plastic bags and sheets along roadsides in the municipalities of Mixco and Chinautla, continuing a pattern of abandoned remains in the region.
