Guatemala is managing the arrival of the Android seismic alert system amidst failures in the national app

Guatemala is currently coordinating with Google, alongside national institutions CONRED and INSIVUMEH, to implement the Android Earthquake Alerts System. This free tool is designed to notify users of potential earthquakes on compatible smartphones.

The initiative to integrate the foreign alert system comes in the wake of reported failures affecting the country's existing national application, highlighting efforts to improve public earthquake notification capabilities.
