Guido Gómez denies US warning is related to Viettel tender

Guido Gómez Mazara, the president of the Board of Directors of the Dominican Telecommunications Institute (Indotel), has formally denied that a recent warning issued by the United States Embassy in the Dominican Republic is related to the Viettel telecommunications bidding process.

The U.S. Embassy published a post on its X account last week highlighting potential risks associated with the telecommunications sector. However, Gómez Mazara has dismissed any connection between that diplomatic caution and the ongoing Viettel tender managed by Indotel.
