Former Senator and former Director of the Department of Social Prosperity, Gustavo Bolívar, has publicly criticized the exclusion of the President of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) from the upcoming presidential inauguration of Abelardo de la Espriella. Bolívar characterized the decision not to invite the judicial official as a declaration of war. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to take place on August 7, 2026, at the Universidad Santiago de Cali.

In response to the transition of power, Bolívar has announced the implementation of a new resistance strategy against the incoming administration. He has explicitly questioned the legitimacy of the president-elect and designated his political movement as a trench for opposition. Reports indicate that several officials and political leaders have confirmed they will not attend the inauguration ceremony.
