The remains of a woman who disappeared 37 days ago were found in a river in Ecuador.

Ecuadorian authorities have recovered the remains of 28-year-old Lizeth Bunshi from a river in Quito. Bunshi had been reported missing for 37 days following an encounter with a male acquaintance who remains the sole detained suspect in the ongoing investigation.

The Prosecutor's Office announced the grim discovery, which marks a significant development in a disappearance case that has spanned more than a month. The suspect currently in custody is believed to be the last person seen with the victim before she vanished.
