Tourism: Dominican Republic receives 7.7 million visitors until July 2026

Between January and July 2026, the Dominican Republic received 7,700,118 visitors, marking a 7.0 percent increase compared to the 7.1 million reported during the same period in the previous year. The growth represents more than half a million additional visitors, according to statements attributed to Tourism Minister David C.

Beyond visitor arrival statistics, the tourism sector plays a significant role in the national economy. Up to 605,000 people depend on tourism in the Dominican Republic, as both first-time and repeat travelers generate an economic multiplier effect that boosts domestic sales, employment, fiscal revenues, and foreign exchange.
